Ever heard of the Silk Road cause it may sound like a road made with the silk fiber. Well the silk fiber road is not a thing sadly , but the Silk Road was a real thing used in early civilization. This Silk Road was used as trade route between places such as China and Eastern Europe , also followed the northern border of India , China , and Persia and ended at Eastern Europe close to the Mediterranean Sea and Turkey. This was developed by 100 B.C.
This trade route was important because it let many different kingdoms and empires come together and trade different products the place may not currently have. This conducts several ideas , unique products along with inventions and shared culture ( cultural diffusion ) . The reason for its name The Silk Road is because one of the main products traded was silk cloth. China was the main place to go if you wanted to trade for silk , and as a result places called Chinese “land of silk”. Some other things traded within the Silk Road besides silk , were things such as salt , teas , sugar , porcelain , spices and other trades could be such as luxurious goods. During certain times places such as Han Dynasty promoted the silk trades. When Yuan Dynasty ruled , they could make sure Chinese merchants traveled safe.
As of safe , the Silk Road was 4,000 miles long with many different routes. Some could be dangerous and short while others may be long and safe. It was rare for merchants to travel the whole route , but instead cities met to trade at trade posts. As a conclusion , the Silk Road is based on trading but has done much more and did much more. They shared their culture between places and shared ideas and inventions and such.
The Silk Road was important for that reason it connected Countries and places together and merchants got what they needed by trading. This also made China connect with other countries.
