Challenges in practiceThe biggest challenge in implementations of smart factory is making things work in harmonious fashion. Data collection is probably one of the biggest problems when it comes to transformation. For example in production line, old machines work along with new machines, so data generation from older machines is very little. So new type of common interface should be developed and it should sync data together; the amount of time invested in syncing both data is huge and this data must be transformed into something useful. And not only this but the data storage is also a huge problem, a single laser machines generated 1TB of data every single second, imagine the data generation for a single day, how shall it be stored, should company invest more resource in buying new storage devices or should it discard unwanted data . For say should it keep necessary data and delete the rest/repetitive data. It depends on the company.Since IoT plays an important role; product ordering times, delivery times are shortened which is good news but there are some customers who wants more customization , to satisfy them it takes  a little bit more effort. When it comes to employees not everyone takes changes with bright smile. German Investors will always play it safe, unlike US when it comes to investing in new technologies. The potential for innovation is high but only thing which delays from moving further are investment. There is a fear from manufactures is that when will Return on Investment (ROI) be and how much time should i invest in it. The fear also comes from stakeholders/partners who are not always willing to support you when it comes to transition. For example if a factory has 4 stakeholders then the discussion becomes ugly if there is a tie break. So various things need to be discussed beforehand.  Another common problem is that workers need adequate training. Should company give training to most of the workers or only for dedicated workers? Also there are few workers in third world countries where companies provide training to their employee who quits job after getting training and joins a new company who gives more salary than previous one.Once there is a change in mentality and investors take risks which will create a ripple effect on investors who then starts investing. Thus create a block chain of smart factories
