December 21, 2017Dear Mr. Kim,My name is Phan Thi Quynh Anh. I am a first-year student at Solbridge. I hope you do not mind my writing to you but I want to inform you that my roommate is a thief. She stole my money, copied my final papers, and denied all of her actions. She caused me a great deal of physical and mental loss.
I am writing this letter seeking an assurance from Solbridge that I will receive an apology from my roommate and a compensation for what I have lost. The first thing is that my roommate stole my money. This happened one month ago when I was going out for dinner and left my wallet in the dormitory. After coming back, I caught my roommate red-handed taking money from my wallet that I left on the bed. Even I promised to forgive her, she kept denying and argued that those were her money, which was so outrageous.
The next day, I went to site A and told the whole story to the resident assistant. The resident assistant said that he would penalize my roommate and find me a different room; however, it has been two weeks and he did not do anything. More seriously, my roommate copied my final papers for Honors English Composition class. That night, after coming back from the study hall, my bookshelf was in disarray.
It looked like my roommate was trying to find something in my bookshelf. Undoubtedly, a few days later, after submitting my final papers for the Honors English Composition class, the professor asked my roommate and me to go to his office. He said that my roommate’s final papers and my final papers were exactly the same. I was so shocked at that moment. It was my roommate who tried to find my papers in the bookshelf and then copied my work. Although I explained everything to the professor, he did not believe me.After all, I tried to confront her myself and asked her to explain everything to the professor.
However, she still denied everything. I also put a lot of effort into persuading the professor about her copying my papers but the professor said he would not receive any excuses. He also intended to fail me.
I am so desperate right now. If I fail the course, I will lose my scholarship and as a result, unable to continue my education here.I firmly believe that if my roommate did not steal my money and copy my final papers, I would not lose my money and be at risk of failing my class, losing the scholarship. Besides, if the resident assistant did not ignore me, my situation would be much better by now. The unethical behaviors of my roommate and the irresponsibility of the resident assistant have caused me a big loss. I would like a letter of apology from my roommate and get my money back.
Also, I want an apology letter from the resident assistant. Last but not least, I would like to know if Solbridge could clarify everything to my English professor and guarantee that nothing will happen to my grades. I also hope Solbridge to ensure that my roommate will be strictly penalized for her dishonesty.I look forward to hearing from you at your earliest convenience. Yours sincerely,Phan Thi Quynh Anh
