Parents can be asignificant tool in encouraging students to finish homework assignments and differentactivities, in defining individual objectives for achievement in school and in planningfor postsecondary education or work (Epstein, 2001). When parents are involvedin academic activities, they will information and ideas about how to helptheir children at home with their learning and accordingly, there may be anincreased appreciation for the teaching profession and the role of the teacher(Epstein et al., 2009). The other benefit may be better understanding of children’s school curriculumand skills to assist children with curriculum related activities throughout theyear easily (Epstein et al.
, 2009).Although learning athome activities can be extremely beneficial to the learning experience ofstudents but they can be can be challenging and time consuming. (Epstein etal., 2009). Students should be encouraged to discuss with their parents theactivities they are involved in and demonstrate what they are learning inclass.
