School is a very prominent part of people’s lives, without it we wouldn’t have much of a future. However, when school doesn’t teach every necessary thing, then something is wrong. I have come to a conclusion that school doesn’t instruct all essential things from grade one to eight.School is a very prominent part of people’s lives without it we wouldn’t have much of a future. School is everything. However, it does not explain to students all required skills such as how to gain a job, how to pay tax etc as a consequence of this, it doesn’t matter if you have all the expected abilities for the job, such as, if someone wanted to be an engineer he wouldn’t be able to because school didn’t teach him how to get a job . If schools educated children skills such first aid specifically emergency CPR as a choice instead of health than in an emergency student’s know what to do and maybe even save a life in the process or martial arts, So they can defend themselves if someone wanted to rob them or kidnap them.
Or one of the most needed things in life, how to cook food so adults wouldn’t have to worry about their kids when they’re home alone without supervision. Or even swimming, an average of 10 people a day die from drowning, on top of that a study revealed that 54 percent of Americans don’t know how to swim or don’t have all basic swimming skills. Students would be overall more confident and especially more independent because they wouldn’t have to take extracurricular classes to learn these skills. These skills might even help you get a job by putting them on your resume you could have an increased chance of getting the job, for example, if you know how to swim you could become a swimming instructor or first aid if you wanted to become a doctor you could have a head start to becoming one.
Kids do not master all basic skills from grade 1 to grade 8. For this, we should make a petition and send it to the ministry of education. Kids need this vital knowledge!By: James Liu
