This initiative will ensure government services are availableanywhere, anytime on any devices that are user friendly and secured withDigital India Project. Digitalisation is fast growing up in Indiasince last three years.
Digital India is the result of technologicaladvancements innovations and critical thinking amongst people. It is well known that these factors transformthe lives of people in numerous ways and will in future ensure that the economystrengthens and empowers in better ways. The DIGITAL INDIA Programme launchedby our honourable Prime Minister Mr Narendra Modi in year 2015 .This initiativewill generate innovative platforms for the future generations and will emergeas the biggest reason for sectoral growth and stability of Indian economy.
Themain objective of this paper is to find out how government services would workeffectively using practical and innovative ideas under digital India campaign.To explore the impact of digital technology and effective governance inimproving the life of citizens. The methodology has been to use secondary dataas a source of information. Findingshave revealed that digitalisation has been accepted by all sections of society.
It has indeed been a turning point for Indian economy. Also citizens havefinally started reaping the benefits of digitalisation in terms of convenience,time saving and incentives. BBNL hasalready started connecting village panchayats and is planning to connect 2,50,000 panchayats under the scheme. This will ensure the digitization andconnectivity of local institutions like panchayats offices. The Digital Indiaproject itself will create employment opportunities for 17 million peopledirectly or indirectly which will help in fighting against unemploymentproblems in India.
The steps taken by the government in recent times have shownpositive results as India’s gross domestic product (GDP) at factor cost atconstant (2011-12) prices 2014-15 is Rs 106.4 trillion (US$ 1.596 trillion), asagainst Rs 99.21 trillion (US$ 1.488 trillion) in 2013-14, registering a growthrate of 7.3 per cent.
With the Make in India campaign and Digital India, thenation is planning to achieve net zero imports by 2020.
